Tools for Bible study.

Book pages.

I was hoping you could lend me some advice. Do you know of any literature that gives loads of references?

For example, something in this style:

'In the beginning was the Word, and all things were made by Him (John 1:1-3, 10)'

'And the Word was made flesh (John 1:14)'

'By him (Christ) all things were created (Colossians 1:14-17)'

Order of Creation:

First day – light (Genesis 1:1-5)

Second day – firmament (Genesis 1:6-8)

Third day – seas, land and vegetation (Genesis 1: 9-13)

Jesus' part in Creation

AND SO ON....

I would be very grateful if you could help me find a great resource that puts information topically like this with the references!

Any help you could offer would be fantastic!

Your friend & servant in Christ,
Jason

Since you have written by email I would presume you are computer literate. I would therefore recommend that you to buy a computerised Bible. This allows you to search, cross-reference, make topical notes and copy or merge Bible verses into your Word processor. They often have a topical index as well – or you can do selective searches such as 'Jesus and Creation'. In my program this gives the following:

JESUS, Creator

John 1:3; John 1:10; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:2; Hebrews 1:10; Revelation 3:14

There are many programs on the market. I use one called WordSearch, but Logos is also very popular, also Quickverse – and there are plenty of others. Most of these are available in multiple Bible versions depending how much you want to pay. You can even get some free on the internet. For instance, visit www.e-sword.net.

If you do not have a computer available then I would suggest a good analytical concordance such as Strong's or Young's. These are very large and heavy but a good resource for Bible study. Also Bible Dictionaries can be a great help. I keep  the 'Collins Gem Dictionary of The Bible' with me as a reference aid. There are many bigger and more exhaustive ones that can be a great help.

Hope this is of some help.

God bless you in your Bible Study.
