I can't get perfect.

Book pages.

How about our perfect living - to hold salvation and be accepted in the Lord Jesus in our present state - which I feel is not enough?  who then will be accepted? What about all the Christians in the world? None is good/perfect. Please clarify.-Arun

Read the story of the rich young ruler in Matthew 19:16-30. Here was a young man who was trying to get salvation by being perfect. Jesus told him that if he wanted to be perfect he had to sell everythinghe owned, give it to the poor and follow me. The disciples were astonished if this young man could not be saved even though outwardly he seemed perfect in every way, then what hop was there for anyone?

Jesus answered, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.' (Matthew 19:26, NIV.)

We are accepted noT because of who we are, but because of who God is, and by accepting Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. This choice and its resulting lifestyle is made very clear by Paul in (Ephesians 2:8-10, NIV)

'For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.'
