How did the apostle Peter die?

Book pages.

Where in the scriptures do I find recorded the apostle's death and the manner of his death?-Joseph.

The manner of Peter's death is foretold by Jesus in John 21:18-19 (NIV):

'"Very truly I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!'"

This came at a time when Jesus was giving Peter his calling as an apostle. It included this challenge to let him know that it would be a difficult path, but along with it was much promise and love.

The tradition that Peter was crucified upside-down comes from the highly fictional apocryphal Acts of Peter. John 21:18ff. can be taken as a prediction of this kind of death, but it can also be taken in other ways as well. Beyond what Jesus said, we know nothing about the final end of Peter's life.
