"Face to the rising sun." Isn't that pagan?

We sang a song during a praise service, and the words were "with my face to the rising sun". My friend was very upset as she mentioned that it was paganistic (maybe not the correct adjective). Also that during the sanctuary service the slaughtering had to be done with their backs turned to the rising sun as pagans worshipped facing the sun!!! Where do I find the text?

Once saved, always saved: I'm seeking for Bible Based Answers.

Hello, I was given this site by one of my friends that are helping me with my Bible study. I am seeking the truth and am looking for Bible based answers NOT because the pastor says so kind of thing. I am having a problem with my study group. Everyone seems to think they are right but no one is showing me what the Word says. They are all saying that they have been taught this all their lives so it has to be true. How can a person be saved at say age 12 yrs and that carry them all their lives? My friends in my group are saying "once saved always saved" and I just can't see this. Please, help me with this. Salvation is the BIGGEST part of the Bible. Without it, why have the rest? I need to fully understand this point before I can more on. I appreciate your time and advice.
Thank you,
Kathy

Could you tell me if the ten commandments are listed (all ten) somewhere else in the bible other than Exodus 20?

I would like know how do you use the Lord name in vain? I need examples so I can understand .

I have a habit if I hear some shocking news I will always say "oh my GOD" and my husband always say that it is wrong for me to say that. He said that I am using the Lord name in vain. I always thought when you use it in vain that you are using it in a disrespectful manner. Please help us to clarify this!

Tithing

From: Christian Amoye ( UK )

I am always perturbed by current Christian practice of tithing. I am fully aware of the requirements as spelt out under the levitical priesthood, but current practice has little or no semblance to the practice then. For example, we only get to hear about tithes to be paid to the church, but never about the other tithes to be shared with the poor, the fatherless, the widows and strangers (Deut 14:28, Deut 26:12).
Beyond the need to support the work of God (which can be done in other ways: 1Cor 9:7-14; 1Cor 16:1-3), and seeing that neither Christ nor the Apostles received tithes, please what is the scriptural basis for Christian tithing?

I need lots and lots of help with keeping the interest of my four young boys in the Lord. I don't know what suggestions you have, but I have prayed and fasted several times. I need tons of ideas on more practical things. My husband has not been to church for years either. I do not want to loose my sons to the world. Please assist. Their idea is that church is boring.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

Some choose their religion because they've been inspired positively and others are born into their religion. Some live in countries where other religions are not allowed and don?t have the opportunity or means to study those other religions to be able to choose the right one. I was hoping you could lend me some advice. Do you know of any literature that gives loads of references.

For example something in this style:-

in the beginning was the word all things made by him --- john 1:1-3, 10

and the word was made flesh --- john 1:14

By him (Christ) all things created --- Col 1:14 - 17

Order of Creation:

First day -- light --- Gen 1:1-5

Second day --- firmament ---Gen 1:6-8

Third day --- seas, land vegetation --- Gen 1: 9 - 13

Jesus part in Creation

AND SO ON....

I would love if you could help me find a great resource that puts information topically like this with the references!

Any help you could offer would be fantastic!

Treating Church Members fairly

I am a church member. My Husband is not a member, but he was faithfully seeking to become one. He admitted to smoking, and our Pastor stated that he should stop before membership could be granted. My Husband agreed that was best for all parties involved. Our problem arose when it was announced that a woman was to be ordained as a deaconess who has been married for about three months and is obviously pregnant beyond that. The board (which I am a member) gave concerns and disagreements on the ordination. The Pastor only stated that they did not admit to him that she was pregnant during the pre marital counseling which he gave them, so we have no proof. My Husband is now questioning the accuracy of the church in their practices when he cannot become a member for smoking, but she can hold a high office when fornication is evident. My Husband has attended this local church for about 6 months faithfully while the soon to be ordained deaconess has been there only 3 times in about 6 months. I am also questioning my membership responsibilities due to this matter. To me this is saying that some sin is okay by higher members but it is not for nonmembers. How judgmental. I know I am not sinless, but the pastor has taken it upon himself to determine which sin is acceptable and which is not. Please explain to me where the church has gone wrong, in denying membership due to smoking or by allowing an ordination of this stature.

Thank You (Name withheld).

I would like to make a question about the children's baptism in the catholic church. Why do the Catholics believe that if their children died without being baptized they would go to hell? It seems so strange to me... In my opinion this is really unfair to the child, because they impose the religion, without letting them take any decision about what they want for their lives, and what way the want to follow.... I really would like to understand this subject. I'll be really pleased if you answer my question.

God bless you,

Rebaptism.

Question: This is to inform you that I have a healthy doubt which I request you to clear.

I have worshipped God first as a Roman Catholic, then from age 10 as a Baptist, then when I got married as a Ceylon Pentecostal. Thus I have been baptised twice, once a catholic and once a Pentecostal. Lately I have read many books and after weighing the pro?s and con?s of the subject matter and come to the conclusion that the Seventh-day Adventist church is right.

I would like to know ? do I need to be baptised in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination or will my other two baptisms suffice? Please be assured, I have taken this step all by myself and none influencing me in any way. I am acting on the dictates of my own conscience.

I have heard just about every philosophy about adultery and being unequally yoked that I can imagine.

My question(s):
1. Is adultery the physical act alone? 2.an one "live in adultery", i.e., be married to a person who has a living spouse when the break-up was because the living spouse was an ungodly woman, not because of adultery. I have been asked to marry. The man loves God, but his ex-wife is ungodly. She is still alive. He and I are of different faiths. I didn't break up the previous marriage. 3.Does baptism wash away his previous life AND his previous marriage?

My question(s):
3.Does baptism wash away his previous life AND his previous marriage?</itunes:subtitle>

Question: My husband and I are separated. He's having an affair and the other woman just conceived his child. He also lives with her. Whenever, he comes over to see our kids, he acts like everything is ok and wants us to make love. Am I still supposed to fulfil his desires?
